It's true! I played it during my bar DJ set last night and suddenly all the drunks were on their feet.
I have to jump on the bandwagon here and add to the love. But it is a drunk love...but that's not wrong, right?
"raw like sushi" was on high rotation on my 10lb walkman, walking to school in my jean jacket.

Agnes, did you have one of big yellow Sony Sport models? Those were the best.
I have a very strong memory of first seeing the video for this song on "Video Music Box", the local access urban music show (where I also first heard Afrika Bambaata and -- weirdly -- Public Image Limited.) It blew me away, and as "Buffalo Stance" got more popular over the next few months, it became emblematic of the first time my musical tastes and those of my (then little) nieces intersected.
