Okay, I could have done without 5 cover songs (even if three were the famous & crowd-pleasing
Detroit Medley), but Monday night's Springsteen show was fan-freaking-tastic. He opened with Out in the Street! Mary's Place! Sherry Darling, by request! Because the Night! Hungry Heart! Held Up Without a Gun, for only the third time EVER!! Girls in their Summer Clothes! No Surrender! The Rising! The Promised Land!! Americanland! Glory Days! Born to Run!!! Thunder Road!!! BADLANDS!!!!! AHHH! I was jumping up and down and singing along like a crazy person. Here's the
setlist. And here's a
more coherent review.
And let me tell you, these old dudes (and Patti, who looked fantastic on the day before her 55th birthday) are in shape. That
running slide that Bruce did during Mary's Place would have decommissioned a man half his age. And then there was the Nils Lofgren guitar-playing somersault during Because the Night...
Here's Out in the Street:

And my friend Gary, whom I've known since the first grade, was seated behind us. Hadn't seen the guy in years. That's some Jersey Magic right there. Wave to Gary, everyone!!
